if i have dump in 8i and if i want to import in 10g ,it is possible or not? if yes then how to do it???

If it's an export, it should work. Oracle is pretty reliable at backward compatibility. Why don't you try it out and tell us if it works?

no i have one batch file that generates the dmp file..
but now i want to transfer my database on 10G.
by toad it is possible..

Why would you involve TOAD in this operation? I'd stay with command prompt.

You answered your own question.

TOAD is a nice GUI.

By using TOAD the OP can avoid the command line completely & not be force to learn something new.
