Hello,

I need to make a new oracle client for winXP.
Actually we have this structure :
C:\oracle with
-->ora6i15 for app with forms6
-->ora734 for app with forms7
-->ora817 for running app with database 9/10
--> tnsnames.ora file
--> sqlnet.ora file

We need new client with client10g instead of ora817.

So I install client10g --> ok, app run fine.

But, i don't know how to add the others directory (ora6i15 & ora 734) and the registry changes

If someone could help me Smile

thanks

Manu

P.S: sorry for my english

Where would you want to add this "something" to? What does your new 10g client have to do with previously installed 6i and 7.3?

What registry changes do you have on mind?

Didn't Oracle Universal Installer do the job?

What's the problem, actually? You've said that

ok, app run fine.

we have many app.
* one in C++ on a ora 10G (app1)
* one in forms6 on ora 9 (app2) --> i need ifrun60.EXE
* one in forms7 on ora 8 (app3) --> i need F45RUN32.EXE

These 3 app must work on a pc client together.

Quote:
ok, app run fine.
for only app1
I installed ora10g and app1 works.

But for app2 i need ifrun60.EXE for running it. So i'll want to copy the actual directory ora6i13 to my new C:\oracle
idem for app3

and i need to modify the registry for these two directories
Quote:
What registry changes do you have on mind?

for example :
HKLM\Software\Oracle
ALL_HOMES ( with ID0, ID1, ID2)
HOME0 (client 10 for app1)
HOME1 (client 6)
HOME2 (client 7)
But for 10G i do not have HOME0 but KEY_ORACLIENT10G

For summary :
i need a way to have app with forms6, forms7, and client 10G working together for the 3 apps

Hope i was more explicit Smile

Thanks

But, if you didn't change anything regarding

* one in forms6 on ora 9 (app2) --> i need ifrun60.EXE
* one in forms7 on ora 8 (app3) --> i need F45RUN32.EXE

why would you want to do anything about these products? IFRUN60.EXE is still in Developer_6i_home\bin directory, isn't it? Therefore,
Quote:
i'll want to copy the actual directory ora6i13 to my new C:\oracle
doesn't make sense to me. Copy <> Install; I certainly wouldn't do that.

I still didn't understand whether there are any problems with applications 2 and 3 or not? If there are, which ones? Any error message?

Besides, are you sure you want to mess up with Windows registry? I might be wrong about it, but - what difference does it make if new registry entry isn't HOME0? Does your application do something with registry? If so, I'm afraid I can't help you at all.
