i have dmp file from oracle8
i want to import it to oracle 10

can i do it with impdp?

thanks but i dont know what do to

the imp stuck and work slowly

the system is new with 5 giga SGA 10G

i run analyze=n ignore=y indexes=n
but its stuck

why?

this is 10 giga of dmp file
its start 2 tables
and in the logfile - i see nothing the filesize = oK (zero)

Use feedback option, you can then see it working.
Depending on your OS, file size may not change until file is closed.

Also note that if the table has a LONG column, the import will be painfully slow. I had a database import that took 6 hours and 95% of the time was on a single table with a LONG column. And that table was well less than 1% of the entire database.
