Hi everyone,

I have been looking into implementing OID to use it as a names server to eliminate the need to have a tnsnames.ora file on every client machine, the potential problem that I may have is that one of our applications requires an ODBC System DNS connection to be configured on each windows client.

My question is will I be able to create an ODBC connection to 'look up' the TNS service name on the OID server and if so how, or will this mean that I will have to keep the tnsnames.ora file on the clients with just the one entry???

Any advice is greatly appreciated.

Many thanks

Phil
