Hi

Are there any issues with exporting an Oracle database which resides on an NT server, to importing into the same database but on a UNIX server ?

Both versions of the Oracle server are the same.

Alan,

It would import seemlessly. So there is no problem across OS if the versions are the same.

Import will go thru smoothly. But you may have problem if you are doing full database export and import as the datafile and other file paths would not match with Unix path (Path naming conventions are different). But if it just tables and other objects, then there is no problem.

Regards.

Hi,
Export/import is supposed to be platform independent. There is no problem exporting from NT to Unix even if it were a full export/import. However make sure the characterset is the same across the two platforms.
Also, system objects are not exported.
