Importing a HUGE export to a small database. [message #368042] Mon, 15 November 1999 06:53

I have a very large export file containing a database that I want to examine the structure of. I am not interested in the data, just the structure.

My problem is that the storage clauses in the export file give huge initial extents (over 1.5 Gbytes in one case!), and the database I am trying to import to is pretty small.

Is there any way I can override the storage clauses so that each table is created with an initial extent of say, 4k? Also, can I override the specified tablespace - I don't really want to create dozens of tablespaces.

I did consider extracting the raw SQL from the export file, but there are several thousand tables in the export and that would take weeks - and I can't guarantee I won't make a mistake too!

Any ideas, anyone?

Thanks,

Ed
