I am using Oracle 10.1.0.2.0 at present. I have to export data from Oracle 9.2.0.1. I am using command:

-----------------------------------------------------
exp abc/abc@abc file='e:/abc.dmp' full=y
-----------------------------------------------------

User 'abc' has DBA role.

I am getting errors:

---------------------------------------------
Export: Release 10.1.0.2.0 - Production on Sun Jan 4 11:21:27 2009

JServer Release 9.2.0.1.0 - Production
Export done in WE8MSWIN1252 character set and AL16UTF16 NCHAR character set
EXP-00056: ORACLE error 942 encountered
ORA-00942: table or view does not exist
EXP-00000: Export terminated unsuccessfully

Could anyone please tell me what the problem is.

It might be better if you use the V9 export utility against the V9 database.

It is not better, you MUST use V9 export utility.

The general rule is:
- export with the lowest version of the 2 databases
- import with the version of the target database
