How can i open that Forum Application from another system in the same LAN. i don like to use Oracle Apex Client tool. Can we use IP address or URL to open that Forum application from another system.

To my knowledger when you want run apex pages, client tool is needed for invoiking URL.Initially i thought four wheels needed to run a car like client tools for apex application. Now i am trying to learn that apex is not a car but it is helicopter and does not need wheels to run. Let me also wait for the new theory confirmation from gurus.

login as Sys or System with sysdba privilege

and type:

SQL> execute dbms_xdb.setlistenerlocalaccess <l_access=>FALSE);
SQL>procedure successfully completed.

then you can use this IP address or computer name (where apex installed) from other sytem to access apex application.

hi kamal,
I tried it in xp and its working fine. thanx. I will try it in vista and come back to you. We have created a small data entry application. Suppose if more than 2 persons simultaneously access that application over LAN and enters data, will it work or data will get lost?
