Hello
When I am creating service for oracle using oradim Utility ,following messsage appearing


F:\Users>oradim -new -sid stby -startmode manual

DIM-00014: Cannot open the Windows NT Service Control Manager.
O/S-Error: (OS 5) Access is denied.

You must be an administrator of the server to be able to use this command.

If you mean that you are creating the service on the same PC as the server, then you need to be logged in to the operating system as an administrator of the PC. To change an account, while logged in as an administrator, go to:

Control Panel -> User Accounts -> Manage Another Accounnt

click on the account that you need to change,
click on change the account type
select administrator
click on change account type

When Oracle waa installed, it should have been done while logged in as an operating system administrator.

Do you perhaps have some sort of security through Windows or something like Norton or McAfee that is blocking access?
