Hello

I have a confusion regarding database gateways and generic connectivity over different releases and versions of Oracle

Could you please help me confirm my understanding on the followng?

There are 2 ways to connect, replicate, migrate data from Oracle to Non-Oracle databases

1) Database Gateways a2) Database Gateway for ODBC i.e. DG4ODBC

Database Gateways (since 11g) have replaced Trasparent Gateways which existed in 9i

Generic connectivity which existed in 9i is replaced by DG4ODBC since 11g

Both Database Gateways and DG4ODBC support Windows 32/ 64 bit as wel as Linux 32/64 bit since 11g release 2
Of course I assume here that DG4ODBC drivers are available for both 32 as well as 64 bit for non-oracle database

Please suggest

Thanks and Regards,
OraKaran
