Hi Michel,

Thanks for your prompt reply.
But after the backup was taken all the ARCHIVE LOG FILES was deleted (We have made the script like this).
Now we have lost the backup files and the Archive log files also.

What to do?

Muktha

In case you take full fresh backup, you'll not need deleted archived redo log files

Hi John/Kamran,

Yes its is a good idea. But what is the solution for the non sinking of the DR Location's Archive log files?

Once i start to applying archive log into the DR, it will ask for the missing files, right?

If you're talking about the standby database, there's a solution. You can take level 1 backup "starting with the SCN value which is the latest SCN at the latest archived redo log file that's available in the Standby" side and perform incomplete recovery to take the standby to the specified SCN value

Muktha, I hope you have started that backup. If not, all I can say isd that you are a dangerous lunatic who should never be allowed near a database.

Hi John,

Thanks for your help.

1) That issue was not created by me.
2) It is now resolved.
3) And don't discourage the people by your words. (Think about your struggling days).

Thanks and Regards

This parameter is similar to the ADJUST_SCN event to advance the database SCN to higher value (ahead value). The database should be rebuilt after using this parameter and you should get support from Oracle to decide the value. This parameter is useful in some recovery situations where the current SCN needs to be incremented by a large value to ensure it is ahead of the highest SCN in the database software supplies. Typically it needed for ORA-600 [2662] errors to be recoverd.

How adjusting the SCN to a higher value will solve the problem of missing archived logs in DR site?
Cab you explain?

One of the more glaring examples is his overly simplistic treatment of the source for ORA-01555 errors, reducing it to inadequately sized undo segments. Yes, I know, that's ONE cause of the dreaded ORA-01555, but it is not the sole cause. Let's examine this error, its causes and what you can do about them.
