Hello!
I am having a trouble when I using the dbassist. When I start the creation I get this error mess: ORA-01034: ORACLE not availible. I have looked what can be wrong but I cannot tell what is wrong I have followed a manual exactly. I have read that it can be something with the Sid but i think it should be ok. I am using Solaris 2.6 and oracle 8.1.5. Do somebody have a clue?
Regards

Tomas

SIR,

YOU HAVE TO SET THE FOLLOWING PARAMETER IN YOUR
OS ENVIRONMENT.

EXPORT ORACLE_SID=(YOUR ORACLE SID)

ANOTHER WAY

YOU HAVE TO CONFIGURE THE TNSNAMES.ORA FILE
FOR HOST STRING

THAT'S ALL.

I had the same error, and disabled archive log for the database creation to turn it later manually on. The error disappeared.

Actually, I had the same error when I tried to create a database remotely via a terminalservices client ..
