It is a known problem that oracle9iAS can't be install to a machine with a pentium4 processer .
but I want to know how to deal with this bug.

Well, I got the universal installer to work yesterday. What I did was copy the CD down to disk, and replace each instance of symcjit.dll in the installation directory with the one found in JRE 1.2 (the good one is 410K) You also have to copy jvm.dll into a directory in your system path (c:WINNT should work). Let me know if this helps you.

Is the same thing necessary for oracle 8i installation? Or does the 8i version not have this problem?
