Microsoft ODBC for Oracle -- Porblem [message #66181]

here is the situation:
My system is win95 and i have oracle8i client with all networking software like net8client installed in my pc
I have a remote unix/oracle8i server to which i want to test connect through usind a DSN created with Microsoft ODBC for Oracle driver only. I dont want to use Oracle ODBC driver. So in this case ( using microsoft odbc for oracle) how do i define the server parameter it asks for? anybody please help me in connecting a oracle db using microsoft odbc for oracle driver .

to make sure, I can connect to the remote oracle db through oracle client(sql). I can also connect to the remote oracle db through MS Access by using a DSN created using oracle odbc driver.
But I have failed to connect to the remote oracle db by using a DSN created using Microsoft ODBC for oracle driver.

We have a user at work who has the same symptoms. Oracle 8i client no problems using Oracle ODBC driver, but Microsoft ODBC for Oracle driver does not work. When using the Oracle 8.05 client, the MS driver works, but not with the 8.1.6 version of the client. Please let me know when you find a solution to this problem. I will do the same.
