Hi,

I am trying to enable the Dead Connection Detection.

We have oracle 8.1.7 on HP-UX 11.00.

There are two sqlnet.ora files on the server. One is in the regular server directory($ORACLE_HOME/network/admin) and the other is under oracle client directory. I believe that I need to add sqlnet.expire_time parameter to sqlnet.ora file under server directory. Please let me know if I am right.

Also, do I need to re-start only listener for the changes to take effect. OR Should I re-start the entire oracle. Please let me know.

Thanks in advance,
Raghu

add SQLNET.EXPIRE_TIME in the server side sqlnet.ora
and restart the listener Or just reload it.
