I have a Voice response system which has it's oven Oracle 8i rdbms running (version 8.1.5). I'm connecting to a remote rdbms which is running Oracle 8.1.7 through sql*net V2/net8 to pull some data from it's tables.

Now, the remote databases to which I'm connecting to is going to be upgraded to Oracle 9i. Will the oracle rdbms on my server still be able to connect to remote database after the upgrade?

What will be the tasks that should be done on my voice response system?

To make it simple, will Oracle 8.1.5 be able to connect to Oracle 9i through sql*netV2/net8? Are there any compatibility issues?
