dear friends
I am having a proble with oracle listener .I am abl eto connect to oracle in server but not from any cleint machine nor can i connect my VB application to oracle database.
it says following error
Test Connection failed beacause of an error in intializing provider[[Microsoft]][[ODBC driver for oracle]][[oracle]] ORA-12154:TNS: could not resolve service name
when the listener is started the following erros are comming:
lsnrctl>start
Failed to start services, error2
TNS-12547: TNS: lost contact
TNS-12560: TNS: protocol adapter error
TNS-00517: TNS: lost contact
32 bit windows error : 2: No such file or directory.
lsnrctl>staus
Connecting to <ADDRESS=<PROTOCOL=IPC><KEY=PNPKEY>>
TNS-12224: TNS: no listener
TNS-12541: TNS: no listener
TNS-12560: TNS: protocol adapter error
TNS-00511: TNS: no listener
32 bit windows error : 2: No such file or directory.

Hi Manas..
Give you're Oracle spec is it Personal or Entp..
did you configured the Listener file..
did you'r clients have tnsnames.ora file..
tell me if you don't know the path.. check doc for more details...

Hi,
We have the following problem with TNS Listener. Whenever we try to connect to the DB, the TNSLSNR.EXE fails, giving the foll. error message:
Connecting to (DESCRIPTION=(ADDRESS=(PROTOCOL=TCP)(HOST=iflexserver-FRA)(PORT=15
21)))
TNS-12541: TNS:no listener
TNS-12560: TNS:protocol adapter error
TNS-00511: No listener
32-bit Windows Error: 61: Unknown error
Connecting to (DESCRIPTION=(ADDRESS=(PROTOCOL=IPC)(KEY=EXTPROC)))
TNS-12541: TNS:no listener
TNS-12560: TNS:protocol adapter error
TNS-00511: No listener
32-bit Windows Error: 2: No such file or directory
The database is installed on Windows 2000, Oracle 9.2.0.1
