I need help with the import utility.

I'm trying to perform a FULL IMPORT on a datatabase using the imp/exp commadline utility. i'm importing from v8.0 to 9i

I did full export and I have the .dmp file.
My problem is with FULL import. I run import and it works fine ... but when it is done.. and i go into the database to see the tables and users that were created.. I can't find them. they are not there.

I'm wondering if I need to do something to the databse befor running the import. Do i need to create anything befor running the FULL IMPORT, it is my undertsanding that Oracle creates the database and all it's objects and schemas..

can anyone help..???
