hi,

my question is that ....
I created one password file to change the password of sysdba ....but now i m able to connect with both the password. .

& if i connect to database as sysdba as below without giving any password in password field i am connected to the database

Enter user-name: sys as sysdba
Enter password:

Connected to:
Oracle Database 10g Release 10.1.0.2.0 - Production



Note:- [1]
NAME TYPE VALUE
------------------------- ------------- -------------
remote_login_passwordfile string EXCLUSIVE

Note:- [2] I had deleted the original password file

In DBA_users i can see user sys is there....

tell me what should i do..

please help....i need only one password for sysdba

First read docs.

There might be many reasons for this.
always shutdown the database and recreate the passwordfile.
check your sqlnet.ora and comment any entry like

SQLNET.AUTHENTICATION_SERVICES

If you delete passwordfile, it doesnt mean that you are deleting the sys user.
