Hello -

I just applied the April 2006 CPU to my Oracle Database. Before the patch, the database reported version 9.2.0.7.0.

Shouldn't this version number change when the April patch is applied? To something like 9.2.0.7.9? I am unclear whether this is the case, so if someone could clarify that for me, I would appreciate it.

Also, using the lsinventory command, I am able to see all the patches that were applied with the April CPU patch. It looks normal - I see all the patches, both there and listed under Universal Installer. Is there any other way of making sure that these patches have really been applied?

Thanks for your time.

That is normal - the version number doesn't change. Maybe it should, but that is a different discussion.
