You should post your problem on an AIX forum.
After you can run xclock, the OUI will succeed.

The point is that you don't have to install X on your AIX server to install Oracle. Just export the DISPLAY to your PC and start runInstaller.

1. Start your X Server program on your PC
2. $ export DISPLAY=your_pc_ip:0.0
3. $ xclock &
4. Note the clock on your PC showing the server's time.

It appears you ignored my previous suggestion.
Here is what I am unclear about.
It appears you have an AIX box.
Beyond that I am not sure what you have or have done.
Does the AIX system have a graphics card and monitor directly attached to it & are you using them when you log onto AIX?
I suspect not, but the answer dictates what needs to happen next.

when i log on i use the HMC , there is no direct monitor or graphic card attached to the server, i use HMC which has a monitor and graphic card that i use to log on.

# xinit

/usr/lpp/X11/defaults/xserverrc[98]: 327848 Illegal instruction(coredump)
1356-800 xinit: Unable to start the X server.
1356-805 xinit: Giving up.
1356-811 xinit: Unable to connect to X server.
1356-803 xinit: Server error.
1356-804 xinit: Client error.
#

and when i type startx :

# startx
Environment variable DISPLAY was set to ziad-daher.saudioger.com:0
Please wait - starting your session
#

and when i type the export display :

# export DISPLAY=localhost:0.0
#

any suggestions ?

>when i log on i use the HMC
If you say so.
Again this problem has NOTHING to do with Oracle.
I have no idea about your starting point and/or what "HMC" might be.
I have NO/ZERO basis of reference for your situation.
You're On Your Own (YOYO)!

When I was learning about X-Windows I was taught that the X-Server is where the Keyboard, Video & Mouse were attached.

All of my database server systems are "headless".
They have no graphics card installed or monitor attached to them.

From my PC I start the X-11 s/w on the PC.
I use ssh with X-11 tunneling enable to create a terminal session on the database server system.
Then all I have to do is invoke
xclock
& it "pops" an X-Window on my PC.
No X-server software needs to be invoked on the DB server box.

HTH & YMMV!

In review, EXACTLY what did either the problem or solution have to do with any Oracle s/w????
This was an AIX problem from the beginning as previously posted.
