Hi Guys,

Currently i am using oracle 9i Release 2 & Rule based Optimizer .I'm planning to migrate to Cost based optimizer .Can any one help...

1) what are the steps i should follow.
2) Is their any performance degradation in any of Sql statements(I knew CBO would work better than RBO)But Still..
3)which parameters we should consider.

My DB is OLTP type & size of the DB is 500 GB Size...

Kindly share knowledge, so it will help to me..

1) change optimizer_goal to choose
2) It may happen
3) None and all optimizer related one. You above all have to consider the queries.

Michel
