dear experts,
while setting up Oracle RAC on VMWare Server, I have reached the point of configuring OracleASM but when I run the command:
oracleasm configure
I get the following error

Mounting ASMlib driver filesystem: mount: block device oracleasmfs is write-protected, mounting read-only
mount: cannot mount block device oracleasmfs read-only
Unable to mount ASMlib driver filesystem

please tell me what's the reason and how to rectify it?

Hi,

I am having the same problem. Only difference is that we are not using Vmware.

We are stuck with not being able to configure oracleasm.
Did you resolve it? What was the solution?

Thanks,
Saranya
