Hi,

I have a dump from Oracle 8i. I trying to view it with the following command in 9i

imp advant@mse@dbase3 fromuser=mse touser=advant full=n show=y file=d:\d.dmp

the problem is I am just able to see the last part of the file as it is very big. I cannot do SPOOL as I am on the command prompt.

Any suggestions to view all the contents

Below is untested but "should" work

imp advant@mse@dbase3 fromuser=mse touser=advant full=n show=y file=d:\d.dmp > capture.log

Did you try with "LOG" parameter something like
"imp username/pwd@tns_entry file=os-path.dmp LOG=OS-PATH.TXT fromusr=xxx touser=yyy SHOW=y

Log shows import log and according your heading , to see contents of dump file use indexfile=file_name( just tables+indexes).
