You have to use 9i export binary if you want to then import in 9i.

You have export program with 9i binaries.
# exp help=y

Export: Release 9.2.0.8.0 - Production on Mon Mar 17 11:32:39 2008

You have export program with 10g binaries.
# exp help=y

Export: Release 10.2.0.3.0 - Production on Mon Mar 17 11:32:22 2008

You need to export with the former one if you want to import in a 9i database.

Michel

Didn't you say you want to export from 10g into 9i database?
So you have both versions, doesn't it.
If not, yes you have to download the missing one.

Patch number does not matter (unless you fall in a bug).
Just version on 2 digits must match with your database versions.

Yes, if you use the export program from the lower version.
Hope the answer is clear.

You have mode one of two errors:

1. You have ignored being told at least two times that you have to export with the LOWER version of the export command in order to import into a lower version of the database.

2. You have ftp'd the file from one box to another using an ascii transfer.

I have no idea what this sentence from you means:
i don't know how to binary exp 9i.because for windows platform i know its already binary.

Please use correct punctuation.

export command is the same for 9i and 10g. It's simply exp. On the server with 9i, create an export, ftp the export file in binary format to the server with 10g and then import it with the 10g import command. QED.
