Hi all,

I got a export dump which has to be imported on another database. But unfortunately no details where give with the dump. Could u please let me is there any chance to get the details to import as the dump size is around 200GB.

with imp use indexfile=file_name to get ddl of objects within dump.

Hi Michel,

I need to import the full database, but before that I wanted to know the tablespace, users, roles details.

Is there any way to know the above mentioned details.

When you full import all these are created by the import process.
You can also use the option "show=y".

U mean no need to create any tablespaces, as the dump size is large(200GB) I hope that may cause any errors.

It is on how you took the dump not about size.

Size does not matter.

If the export was taken with full=y then I can import the whole database without creating any tablespaces or users, am I rite.

Yes, just invoke the exp full=y command , imp itself will take care.

I couldn't proceed with the import as the dump file is without the extension .dmp It show the type is file. Could u help me out.

Oracle does not care about your extension.
The problem is not there.
Copy and paste what you did.
