I have an easily accessible batch file that connects to Oracle with the following:
connect user/password

What can I do to hide the password?

Compile Windows .bat to .com, then remove the .bat

Set your users with EXTERNAL AUTHENTICATION and then use:
c:>sqlplus / to connect

Example how to do that is described Here

Hope that helps,
