Hi Guys

I'm using RDBMS Enterprise edition 9206 in a production environment and need to start looking at encryption.

I have never done anything with encryption before.

I have to access an SQL Server database from Oracle and extract data that has been encrypted with MV5 Hash (?) and decrypt it with Oracle.

Can anyone tell me if this is possible and if so how, or even just point me in the direction of some good information resources so I can learn this.

Thanks.

Oracle has DBMS_OBFUSCATION_TOOLKIT package which is for encryption/decryption. If that doesn't have the decryption for the data you put in, you'll have to extract the encrypted data and decrypt it outside the database.

Search for DBMS_OBFUSCATION_TOOLKIT on http://tahiti.oracle.com/
